Private Enterprise Trying To Serve The Public

Despite the attacks by The Star, No Plan B Mayor Miller, waterfront condo owners and island squatters. If Porter can make a success of his airline it will bring more tourists to Toronto, more jobs on the island and more jobs at Bombardier.

Porter to add daily summer flights to Halifax
March 09, 2007

Porter Airlines has announced plans to offer summer service to Halifax.

The upstart regional passenger airline said yesterday it would offer four daily Toronto-Halifax return flights, with two via Ottawa and two via Montreal, beginning June 29 until Sept. 4.

However, to accommodate the new route, Porter said that its Ottawa-Toronto service will move to six daily return trips from its current 10 and its Montreal-Toronto service will be reduced to six trips from its current level of nine flights.

Porter Airlines is a regional passenger carrier based at Toronto City Centre Airport.

Ah yes, I can see the tourists from Halifax lined up now to take Porter's flight that takes far longer than any of Air Canada or Westjet's non stops.
Why land at Pearson when you can foul the Waterfront?
Certainly Porter is a paragon of private enterprise. Right from the minute he received the $20 million cheque from the Federal Government.
I have yet to see a company that is better at avoiding competition.
