And that is probably why we don't hear diddly squat from the mayor, the council, the police chief and the black community about the almost daily occurence of shootings and stabbings....it is almost like it has been accepted as part of the lifestyle of the city.
Club gunfire wounds 1
By CHRIS DOUCETTE, SUN MEDIA
A 50th birthday bash at a north Etobicoke nightclub ended with a bang early yesterday and a young woman getting caught in the crossfire.
Toronto Police say the 18-year-old was leaving the Ghana House Restaurant and Banquet Hall on Milvan Dr. around 5:40 a.m. when she heard gunshots and felt a pain in her buttock.
"We don't believe she was the intended target," Sgt. Brent Swackhamer, of 31 Division, said yesterday. The owner said the party was wrapping up when violence erupted in the parking lot. A group of men became involved in a fight and bullets started flying.
The woman was taken to hospital with a non-life-threatening wound. No arrests had been made yesterday.
