Wage increase only helps
Why is raising the minimum wage going to kill jobs? Employers hire
staff because work needs to be done. Raising the minimum wage may
increase prices a bit, but taking a few cents more from the person
buying the latte and giving it to the person serving the latte will not
cause huge job losses. Employers yell “Job Killer” at any proposal that
threatens profits, but they need to get the jobs done or they will be
out of business. As Henry Ford proved many years ago, paying decent
wages is good for the economy, not the road to ruin that his detractors
claimed.
