Ottawa, province deliver snub to city

In his victory speech Monday night, Mayor David Miller put politicians at Queen's Park and in Ottawa on notice that he intends to start pressing them for a fair share of the federal and provincial sales tax collected in Toronto. "We will not take No for an answer," he told cheering supporters. It took less than a day before Miller had his answer: a resounding No. It's just not on, Ontario Finance Minister Greg Sorbara said. It's simply a "non-starter," said federal Finance Minister Jim Flaherty.
