March 5 Public Event on TILMA: 2 Right Wing Governments, 1 Secret Trade Deal
This is one of the most important meetings you will ever attend. If you have not heard about TILMA it is high time you did. It is a direct attack on democracy and it will affect your life and that of your children and grandchildren if it goes through.
It was signed last April by Campbell and Klein with no reference to the public in either province and it comes into force on April 1st THIS YEAR. It hands over power to big business and lets governments off the hook. It is diabolical.
March 5 Public Event on TILMA: 2 Right Wing Governments, 1 Secret Trade Agreement
The Trade, Investment, and Labour Mobility Agreement (TILMA) between Alberta and BC is an unprecedented agreement, imposing extreme constraints on what governments can do.
Ottawa-based lawyer and trade expert Steven Shrybman will discuss his recently published legal analysis of TILMA.
"The likely impacts of TILMA represent a profound assault on the capacity of present and future governments in BC and Alberta to serve the public interest." - Steven Shrybman
