OSHAWA -- No Colbert, no care. Perhaps we should call him Colchicken.
But the real General was in town and it wasn't some attention-seeking, American, pseudo-conservative talk show host either.
Now who's the real general? Oshawa hospitality, of course.
There are few cities better for partying in this country than Oshawa and last night was no exception.
Yes, the famous Saginaw Spirit fan missed out on some serious laughs and a chance to go toe to toe with Don Cherry. who wouldn't miss a night in the 'Shwa.
"This has been so much fun," said Jerry Archer, of KX96 Radio, who with his morning show partner Carolyn Ellis hosted the big Stephen Colbert Day event at the GM Centre last night. "We can't believe how big it got." It all started over a bet. Something about the Saginaw Spirit of the OHL naming their mascot the Steagle Colbeagle The Eagle and then Oshawa Mayor John Gray made a bet.
