That should solve some of our fiscal problems but I am not sure how people in the St. Thomas area feel about it......

WASHINGTON -- The U.S. House of Representatives has passed legislation that would restrict trash imports from Canada.
The bill, which faces more uncertain prospects in the Senate, would empower states to limit how much municipal solid waste they take from Canada.
Michigan legislators have long complained that Canada is using the state as its personal garbage can.
But the White House warns the bill may violate trade agreements and lead to retaliation by Canada, which takes hazardous waste from the United States.
The House approved a similar bill last year but couldn't get enough support in the Senate.
Last year, Democratic legislators reached an agreement with Ontario to phase out trash from Ontario to Michigan by 2010, including a 20 per cent decrease by the end of 2008.
