...which begs the question of why there was a wholesale closing of mental institutions and dumping of residents on to the streets which for all intents and purposes meant they became their own analyists.

DiManno: Only after his arrest did the man who allegedly pushed two teens onto the subway tracks get the psychiatric evaluation and drugs his condition apparently demanded.
