It’s another backtrack by the McGuinty Liberals. We’ve just sat through months of Queen’s Park justifying the escalating price of electricity, and how we should all willingly fork over more money each month without complaint.
The new hydro regulatory regime, with smart meters and time-of-use rates, was going to make us the most efficient energy users this side of Chlorophyll. There was going to be solar power and wind power and energy savings and no more icky coal. Oh, yes, it would cost some money, plus HST, but that’s okay.
