SOCIAL ASSISTANCE IS NOT THE ANSWER...

Workers with unstable jobs left behind by outdated social programs: Editorial

The federal Conservatives must push reform their social assistance programs to help the growing number of workers facing precarious employment.

* mandate schools to return to teaching 3 Rs and let parents look after lifestyle alternatives

* students must meet standards and if they fail to do so they repeat the year

*become more competitive regarding quality and cost of manufactured products

* more trade schools and fewer bastions of cultural achievement

* develop a work ethic by mandating that appropriate students will replace seasonal workers so they learn the basics of employment: time management, quality of expectations, etc.
