  Has the case involving Toronto mayor Rob Ford been, er, cracked ? THE SMOKING, ER, GUN ?

...did the police find evidence that shows Ford smoking and/or IN possession of an illegal substance WHY WAS HE NOT ARRESTED, CHARGED AND JAILED?

...in the course of a day how many people might you come in contact with that have unsavoury backgrounds? If Fords occasional driver fell into this category shouldn't ford be commended for taking part in the rehabilitation of the individual.

...I was under the impression the courts were to establish guilt/innocence based  on evidence collected by professional  and trained law enforcement persons.

...from what is he expected to defend himself? If he committed a breach of the criminal code issue a warrant listing those breaches and arrest him! A cynic might see this debacle as using TPS as a political propaganda organ.
