Smitherman support letter for Chow over-the-top
It’s one of the best cases I’ve seen in a long time of the pot calling the kettle black.
In a schlocky May 2 letter soliciting would-be donors to the campaign of mayoral candidate Olivia Chow, “Furious” George Smitherman claims that his new best friend (Chow) is the only one who can “stop” Rob Ford and — get this — the “only progressive candidate in the race.”
The ex-mayoral candidate, who was beat by Ford in October 2010 to the great dismay of his Liberal friends including Premier Kathleen Wynne, and who was the ex-deputy premier under the scandal-plagued Dalton McGuinty government, contends that this fall’s election is even more important than the one in 2010 because “we all know the risk” (presumably of Ford getting back into office).
