What had happened to Mike Bullard!
The Mike wasn't on
Talk show host - and Sun columnist - find out the hard way what a difference a few days can make
By JOE WARMINGTON
Turns out reports of Mike Bullard's happiness on XM Satellite Radio may have been greatly exaggerated.
But so are reports of his demise.
You know what they say in radio: Stay tuned. And don't forget the equally as old and wise adage "you can't always believe what you read in the newspaper."
As a reporter it's your worst fear. I always wondered if it would happen. I remember the part in Reporting 101 in journalism school at Canadore College in North Bay back in the last millennium about making sure the theatre doesn't burn down if you leave early to file for deadline.
It's always in the back of your mind. It had never happened to me in more than 6,000 stories and columns.
It happened yesterday.
It's not every day you run a column about a hit radio show and how well it's going and it has already been cancelled. It's funnier when it happens to someone else.
But that's exactly what happened with the column yesterday about Bullard's comeback on XM Satellite Radio with co-hosts Lawrence Morgenstern and Judy Croon. Little did I know the mike had been pulled by XM management Friday.
