Rumors Are Flying....

...that in order to help replenish the parie's campaign fund Dressup Jack is going to run a lottery where you pick the date and the time that Brosseau will do/say something that reincarnates blonde jokes.

Elusive NDP MP Ruth Ellen Brosseau speaks out

07/05/2011 1:59:06 PM CTV.ca News Staff

The NDP's headline-grabbing MP has finally broken her silence, telling a newspaper in her riding that she's never been there, but plans to go soon.

Let's play Dead or Alive

It's Mike's favourite party game

Granatstein: Ruth Ellen Brosseau devalues politicians

The federal election last Monday has turned my world upside down.

The party might suck but some of the members will give them a glimmer of sanity...

A Spectacle Worthy Of Nero...

...diversion of real problems by having parades, festivals, throwing Chritians to the lions, etc. A tactic Comrade Miller has been successfully using for the last 7-8 years.

Jonathan Kay: At Gay Pride, Zionists and anti-Zionists fight to a draw

Jonathan Kay  July 5, 2010 – 12:38 pm

Toronto’s gay pride parade never fails to entertain. My favorite part, though, is the two hours or so before the parade starts — when the participants are strolling about in the staging area, assembling into their various groups. By showing up early, you can meet the one-off oddballs who seem to defy categorization.
My favorites this year were a Borat look-alike wearing (apparently, without irony) a tight green unitard, an older man dressed up as a flower (“He’s a pansy,” explained one of my colleagues matter-of-factly, as if this were some sort of official gay sub-genre (is it?)), an impossibly epicene man in a superhero costume who described himself as “SuperGay” (see photo, above), a tall transsexual who had done himself up as a 50s-era air hostess with the most extraordinary Mad Men-worthy attention to detail (see photo, below), and some fully naked middle aged men representing a group with the flagrantly redundant name “Totally Naked Toronto Men Enjoying Nudity.”
I also enjoyed the small but feisty contingent of self-proclaimed asexuals, one of whom had the parade’s best placard: “It’s not that you’re not sexy. I just don’t care.”
Anyone expecting some sort of massive gay protest against the police, stemming from last month’s G20 fracas, would have been disappointed. The officers on duty were all smiles. And there was a line-up of parade-goers getting their pictures taken with them. Some of these folks leapt into the officers’ arms, cabaret-style — without any fear of brutality. The only scintilla of anti-cop militancy came in the form of a small group bearing “F*ck the police” signs and — more memorably — a group member wearing a police outfit, gimped out on all fours. The activist holding the gimp-cop’s leash was herself wearing a Balaklava (see photo, below).

Without Violence They Get Minimal Media Attention...

...and their "marches" are seen as mimicking the parade of the clowns.
Why the G20 protesters won’t condemn violence
The fact is that activists find the violent fringe useful

Clownish politicians turning more of us off

How low can they go? Politicians, that is. Already among the least trusted professionals — a recent Reader’s Digest poll ranked them 39 out of 41, barely above car salespeople and telemarketers — recent shenanigans should earn them coveted last place in next year’s poll.
Even in an era of new lows represented by poster boy Rod Blagojevich, the former governor of Illinois, it has not been a great season for politicians.
The man elected to Ted Kennedy’s U.S. senate seat is most famous for posing nude in Cosmo. A New Bruswick MLA has gone viral on YouTube, caught rapping in the House to an American Idol contestant’s “original song:” “Pants on the ground, pants on the ground, you’re lookin’ like a fool with your pants on the ground.” Funny, sure, but it hardly elevates the level of legislative debate.
Someone tossed a politically correct pie in the face of Fisheries Minister Gail Shea for her stand on that annual outrage, the cute baby seal hunt, which is scheduled to start again shortly. Politically correct as in no animal byproducts were harmed in the baking of the tofu cream pie.
Poor Ms. Shea; it didn’t even taste good.
And on Parliament Hill, home of that daily jackal fest known as question period, the prime minister arbitrarily prorogued the 40th Canadian Parliament until March 3. Just say no to democracy.
Of course, the way things are going, most of us see that as an improvement.
It’s worse in England, where politicians scored an all-time low for public trust in a recent Ipsos Mori poll, making them the least trusted professionals in the nation, even lower than journalists, that other reviled sect.
It might have something to do with one MP claiming porn movies as a parliamentary expense or another hiring his teenage son, a full-time student, as a “parliamentary assistant” for more than £11,000 ($18,650). One even claimed £16.50 ($27.99) for a wreath allegedly draped on a war memorial.
As amusing as these hijinks may seem, there are serious consequences. Faced with this Confederation of Dunces, career aspirants are flocking to alternatives such as auto sales and telemarketing, or God forbid, journalism. Who’s left to guide democracy? The kids of South Park?
And who will bother to vote for these jokers? Voter turnout in the last federal election was already at an all-time low.
It makes you long for the good old days of … Brian Mulroney?
