Rumors Are Flying....

Elusive NDP MP Ruth Ellen Brosseau speaks out
07/05/2011 1:59:06 PM CTV.ca News Staff
The NDP's headline-grabbing MP has finally broken her silence, telling a newspaper in her riding that she's never been there, but plans to go soon.

PUBLIC PERCEPTION OF THE LOYAL OPPOSITION-Seperatists Enclave
...LEARN TO LIVE WITH IT jACK
Graeme Hamilton: Thomas Mulcair, deputy leader of the NDP, has promised to take under his wing the raft of New Democrat rookies elected in Quebec Monday. But who is going to keep an eye on Mr. Mulcair?
Adler: Separatism lives on
His name is Pierre Luc Dusseault. He is a newly elected NDP member of Parliament from Quebec. And he is only 19, and still without NDP training. So he is to be forgiven, I suppose, by the mainstream media for letting the cat out of the bag.

I'm Guilty As Charged...
Jerry Agar May 03, 2011
Agar: End the secret society
You own an important enterprise. It is called Canada. But you don’t really know who does what or where a good deal of the money goes.
Lesson 1:
Kelly McParland: First order of Tory business, stop the free lunch
REUTERS/Jim Young No more free lunch for Gilles
Presumably one of the first acts of retribution policy initiatives the new Harper majority will take is the removal of the $2-per-vote subsidy for federal political parties. The Prime Minister made no secret of his plan to do so, and he now has the ability to carry it out with limited fuss.
It would be smart to make it one of the government’s first actions, along with other long-standing ambitions (see: Gun registry; abolition of) so they will be out of the way, and long forgotten come the next election. But while the Tory faithful will be happy to see the subsidies go, the election results have changed political realities so much that the need to act (as opposed to the desire to act) seems somewhat less pressing than it used to. Rex Murphy:
The United Nations, once a noble dream, is now just a joke
The Geneva Convention and Hitler in the 30s and the United Nations and Ahmadinejad in 2010? You couldn't find, no hard you try, of an prime example of the inmates taking over the asylum.

John Ivison: Minister defends Canada’s support of Israel
Tom Sandler/Handout
Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu with Canada's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Peter Kent.
John Ivison September 7, 2010 – 7:28 pm
Perhaps it should be no surprise that the Palestinian Authority is unhappy with Canada’s foreign policy in the Middle East. But it is a shock to hear a Canadian minister admit to a relationship that is anything less than cordial.
Peter Kent, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, called from Israel, where he was updating senior Israeli polticians, including President Shimon Peres, on this country’s strategy in the Americas (Canada represents Israel’s consular interests in Cuba and diplomatic interests in Venezuela).
While in the Middle East, Mr. Kent also visited the West Bank, where he met Riad Malki, the Palestinian Authority’s Foreign Minister. During a frank exchange, Mr. Malki apparently expressed his unhappiness with Canada’s bias toward Israel, particularly its voting record at the United Nations, where it routinely votes alongside the Jewish state.

An advertisement against a new Islamic centre to be built near the World Trade Center site in Lower Manhattan, which will begin appearing on New York City buses next week.
...by giving them more propaganda to convince their adherents that the west is not the bastion of freedom that the West claims it is and to justify the deaths of 3000+ people.

It was a sign of the coming fiscal storm: thousands of people poured into the streets of Montreal to protest Quebec's bad-news provincial budget and prompted a police intervention.
