I'm Sorry Hazel But This Not A Good Idea...

...if someone wants to honor you with a birthday party let the councilors and "leadership" team put up the cash not the taxpayers. I have attended many functions honoring friends who have reached milestones and the majority attending, even though they are told not to by the organizers, drop something into the hat.

Mississauga offers $10,000 to send councillors to Hazel McCallion’s birthday

The City of Mississauga has offered to shell out more than $10,000 to send all councillors and members of the city’s leadership team to a massive birthday party for Mayor Hazel McCallion next month.

Too Many Don't Give The Electorate Credit For Doing The Right Thing...

October 27, 2010 – 10:42 am

Carolyn Parrish has an amazing way of wearing out her welcome.
It took 13 years in Ottawa for the one-time backbench MP to get herself ejected from the Liberal Party caucus after bad-mouthing her party leader and making an ass of herself on national television by stomping on a George Bush doll.
“I have absolutely no loyalty to this team, none,” she declared at the time.
Unwelcome in Ottawa, she turned to municipal politics in Mississauga, where Hazel McCallion has ruled supreme since approximately the Paleolithic Age. There’s an argument to be made that McCallion has stayed on too long — she was 89 when re-elected this week — but rather than challenge her by working diligently to establish a solid record of achievement, Parrish went the George Bush doll route again. NOT Items Ford Needs To Put On His Plate...

More anti-Toronto discrimination

If you add Chantal Hebert‘s column today (Where are the big-city women mayors?) to the Star’s discovery last week that Toronto goalies are being discrimnated against by the NHL, you get this inescapable conclusion: There is not a single Toronto woman playing goal in the NHL.

Makes you think, eh?

Photo Eepitomizes Hazel...

..."I will get this f%#&ing bottle open come low or high water." Comrade Miller would marshall his staff, form a committee, hire a consultant and eventually get his chauffer to drive him across the street to the Four Seasons for water. Snivelman wouldn't be any better.

A Great Analogy...

Pretenders testing contender Hazel: Woloshyn

By TED WOLOSHYN, Toronto Sun

In Mississauga, candidates are lining up for a shot at Hazel McCallion like kids at a carnival line up to hit a bull’s-eye with a ball so they can watch their teacher splash into the water below.

Leave It To The Voters Of Mississauga...

...Toronto voters don't have the same quandry! Miller out and gawd only knows if we have a champion in the wings.

Hume: Time for McCallion to quit

The Problem is there is No Alternative Who are you going to go with if you don't reelect Mayor McCallion? Carolyn Parrish or Sue McFadden... hanksr

Reprehensibile? True! Public Outrage? False!

...a story about the shortcomings of a Toronto councilor drew over 190 comments but the Sa's story about the debacle in Mississauga hasn't drawn a single comment.

How Mississauga’s reputation got thrown under the bus: Sa

It took a media storm and public outrage for the City of Mississauga to take incidents of employee hazing seriously.

Let's See How Parrish Manipulates This Against Hazel...

Employees may be fired over spanking incident: Mayor

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - Horseplay or not, the mayor of an Ontario city where workers were bound in duct tape and spanked said firing the employees involved in the bizarre incident has not been ruled out.  June 02:01

Mississauga workplace allegations: Seeking a kinder, gentler boss

Two employees being bound together face to face using duct tape and then having water balloons thrown at them while they roll around on a large table in the sign shop.” That’s how the outside team called in by the City of Mississauga to investigate allegations of workplace irregularities, for lack of a better term, described the bizarre incident depicted in a cellphone video obtained this week by CBC News. Less corroborated accusations of employee abuse or hazing include vicious spankings, forced head shavings and “an employee [being] bound using duct tape and put on the back of a truck, which was sent through the wash bay.” Read More »

Come on Hazel...someone in your cadre must have at least heard rumors about this silliness!

Police probe duct-tape hazing at Mississauga workplace
Five years after the abuse allegedly started, six months after the City of Mississauga began its own probe and two months after police were shown a damning video of mistreatment at work, Peel Region police are now investigating the allegations.
