For decades in Britain, black and Asian gang culture has been allowed to develop and triumph in the school system. Teachers and social workers are either too physically frightened or too politically correct to intervene, and an increasingly ineffectual police force is tied by “anti-racism” policies to stop the horror. The racism of lowered expectations has led fatuous, liberal, white people to argue that gang culture is somehow part of the black and brown experience, with most of the victims of course being other black and brown people.
In fact this sub-culture despises women, gays, the weak, and anybody who stands in its way. It has no respect for anybody and anything, and is obsessed with promiscuity, violence, and cheap greed. The spread of anti-Semitism on Canadian university campuses is an alarming and obvious phenomenon. The University of Toronto is making a shocking contribution to the spread of hate. It is the birthplace of the odious so-called “Israel Apartheid Week” which has best been aptly described as, “the week in which the Western campus Hitlerjugend, Marxist-Leninists, and Islamo-fascists unite to demonstrate against and call for the destruction of the only Middle East country that is NOT an apartheid regime.”
The Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) is the home of some of the most appalling of The University of Toronto’s extremist radicals. It’s no coincidence that OISE, the home of suspect programs of dubious academic value like “Diversity Studies” is host to a number of anti-Israel lectures during the bigotfest of “Israeli Apartheid Week.”

But to what extent has Jew hate permeated the academic programs at UofT? Judging by some of the theses that are being granted legitimacy, alarm bells should be going off and an investigation may be merited. Read More »

We always receive a fair number of letters from readers in British Columbia. This week, the volume sharply increased. Almost all those notes focussed on the arrival of the MV Sun Sea to that province’s shores, with many scorning the way our government is dealing with the 500-or-so Tamil migrants on board. Here are two examples.
“What a charade and sad display by the Canadian government,” wrote Jim Francis of Surrey, B.C. “After an elaborate display of temporarily imprisoning the so-called refugees and a futile attempt to establish their true identities, all will eventually be released. When will we ever realize the long-term problems we are creating with our open-door [refugee and] immigration policy?”
“Countries such as Australia and Japan would send the migrants back,” agreed Bernard C. Barton, of Tsawwassen, B.C. “Patsy Canada, however, accommodates, feeds and finances them, and then will arrange for relatives to follow. It’s time for Canada to get tough, and show that we are not a convenient dumping ground for questionable illegal aliens.”
–  While many readers seem to agree with the positions of the National Post editorial board, dissent is not uncommon. For example, many expressed outrage over our Tuesday editorial titled “Bring Back Omar Kadhr.” The Post’s position that this “child soldier … has all the rights and privileges that go with citizenship” did not sit well with many readers.

How Many Parades In The Middle East Will Have QuAIA Contingents?

Jewish groups plan show of force at Pride

The presence of a controversial hate group calling itself Queers Against Israeli Apartheid (QuAIA) will not deter the Jewish community from marching in this year’s Pride parade, a contingent of Jewish leaders said Friday.
“We are more determined than ever to galvanize a large number of marchers for the parade,” Kulanu executive director Justine Apple told a press conference at the Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre.
Apple, whose group represents the LGBT Jewish community in Toronto, said both gay and straight delegations will be marching from the Canadian Jewish Congress, the Canada Israel Committee and a number of Toronto synagogues to “speak out” against discrimination and to “take back” the Pride parade she once knew.
“We will not be bullied from attending our parade,” she said. “Groups that bring messages of hate cannot be given licence to hijack the parade and turn it into a propaganda tool for such anti-Israel venom.”
Bernie Farber, chief executive officer of the Canadian Jewish Congress, told the media he will be marching in the July 4 parade and will be sending an e-mail blast to the entire Jewish community to stand in support of the only state in the Middle East that supports gay and lesbian rights.
Apple and others reserved their harshest criticism for the Pride board for deciding to reverse their earlier ban on the participation of QuAIA in this year’s parade.
Their about-face came little more than a week after the city handed Pride their $123,807 grant cheque — on good faith that any groups violating the city’s anti-discrimination policy would not be allowed to march this year.
“Clearly Pride Toronto has cowered and given in to the bullying and intimidation tactics of (certain members of) the LGBT community,” Apple said.
“The inclusion of these groups ... turns Pride into a made in Canada Durban II, an anti-Israel gong show,” added gay activist Martin Gladstone, whose DVD documented the involvement of the QuAIA contingent in last year’s parade.
It would seem that city officials have also done an about-face.
The city’s diversity manager Ceta Ramkhalawansingh indicated a month ago that Pride may be in violation of the city’s anti-discrimination policy for allowing QuAIA to march in the parade.
But on Friday she sent the Toronto Sun an e-mail indicating Pride has put “new procedures” in place that ask all participants to sign an anti-discrimination declaration.
“We understand that the intent of Pride’s new procedure is to allow members of the community to express diverse views in a mutually respectful way,” she wrote, carefully avoiding the fact that QuAIA will be marching with the same messaging as in the past.
