.....the family also seemed to be helping him out because he always seemed to be having hard times but he spent a lot of time out with the boys, shopped at the finest men's clothing stores, had the latest electronic toys in the apartment in my grandfather's house, etc. etc. and he thought he had it made until he decided he wanted to buy a house but when he came to the family for financial help we explained the facts of life.

Imagine that for years you've given $2,000 annually to a relative ostensibly to help pay the bills, put food on the table and provide for the children. But imagine your surprise if you discovered instead of buying his children textbooks, and decent clothes, your kin instead used a large chunk of that money to buy a big-screen TV -- say, one that cost $1,200.
