Enough with the empty words — time for Queen's Park to take action
By Christina Blizzard
Wouldn’t you love to be a fly on the wall at the meetings between Premier Kathleen Wynne and (a) PC Leader Tim Hudak and (b) NDP Leader Andrea Horwath?
Both met with Wynne over the last couple of days to set out their priorities.
Hudak wants no truck or trade with Wynne. And rightly so.
Why would any Tory worth his salt have anything to do with the most left-leaning of Liberals?
It will only end in tears.
All the same, Hudak might want to rethink some of his rhetoric.
Holding up places like Virginia, Alabama and Michigan when he talks about right-to-work legislation is not going to woo middle-class voters into the Tory camp.
People are fearful enough for their jobs. Threatening to remove what little protection they have left is only going to drive them to vote for someone else.
Still, Hudak made the good point that with the Liberals and NDP cosying up, there’s not much hope for fiscal sanity.
