The predictable Copenhagen Day One checklist for slagging Canada on climate change rolled out right on schedule.

1. First thing in the morning Greenpeace shall hoist a sign on Parliament Hill slagging an inactive government, get their climbers arrested to wow the cameras and trigger a security review at how they scaled two government buildings undetected. Check.

2. Canada will be handed a ‘fossil of the day’ award in Denmark. Check.

3. An Alberta scientist’s study will be published in a U.S. magazine, attacking the oilsands for discharging pollution equal to a major oilspill every year. Check.

4. Liberals, New Democrats and the Green Party shall line up to denounce the Conservatives as the ‘dirty old man’ of the environment who is simply following oilpatch orders and predict that more of 1. and 2. shall be forthcoming. Check.
