What Is It Going To Take......

...for his "supporters" to get their heads out of their asses?

Al Gore feels the heat after global warming flub

Full Comment’s Araminta Wordsworth brings you a regular dose of international punditry at its finest. Al Gore is at it again. The man who claimed he was the father of the Internet has been predicting imminent doom and gloom at the climate change summit in Copenhagen.

The Arctic ice cap would be totally melted in seven years, declared the former U.S. politician, who was more or less canonized when his documentary on climate change An Inconvenient Truth won an Oscar and he received the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize.

Most lies don’t get challenged immediately. But unfortunately for Gore, the scientist whose research he spun, left him out on a limb. Wieslaw Maslowski wondered how the figure had been arrived at and said he would never try to estimate the likelihood of anything as exact as that.

Gore’s office later admitted the 75% figure was one used by the climatologist as a ‘’ballpark figure’’ several years ago in a conversation with Gore.

How Much Less Pollution If Experts DIDN"T Meet

One-hundred-and-fifty gas guzzling Limos? Is this citizen of Adler nation nuts? Or is he just caught up in paying attention to facts like:

Copengahen by the numbers

--1200 limos / France just ordered 42 more on Thursday / they ran out of limos coming from Germany & Sweden / number of electric cars or hybrids: 5

--140 private planes / ran out of room at the airport / planes will drop VIP passengers off and then fly to a regional airport OR to Sweden / And then fly back to pick them up

--15,000 delegates and officials / 5,000 journalists / 98 world leaders / Leonardo DiCaprio / Daryl Hannah / Desmond Tutu / Prince Charles

--1400 LEGIT sex trade workers / union / free sex / you need a climate conference delegate's pass

--Temporary prison in an old brewery not being used and just so nobody thinks I am anti-Danish beer, I am on record as saying Tuborg is one of the best lagers I have ever quaffed. Anyway, the old Danish brewery in Copenhagen contains 37 steel cages, room enough for 370 detainees and the Danes promise not to torture any old protesters, pot dealers, pimps or prostitutes handed over to them and I am not talking about Al Gore. We are now told he is not going.

But back to the citizen of Adler Nation and his charge of hypocrisy.

The estimate for this Copenhagen Carbon Orgy is 41,000 tonnes of "carbon dioxide."

This is estimated to be more carbon than is being emitted by 60 small countries in one full year.

Greeners Have A Hering Problem

Why dismiss dissent?

Curiously, on the day the Globe and Mail ran a story about polls showing 75% of Canadians were "embarrassed" that Canada hasn't been more active in the climate change issue, the paper also ran another article about how scientific skeptics on global warming were ignored or maligned.

Climate scientists: Dog ate homework

By LORRIE GOLDSTEIN

In the latest shocking development in climategate, scientists at the world's leading research facility studying climate change have admitted they threw out much of the raw temperature data on which they built their theory of man-made global warming.

Take Two Aspirins Call Me......

Add Climate Change Skeptics To List

We all know about religious fanatics and the damage they can cause. If you disagree with them they declare you a disbeliever, your views as heresy, and you an infidel. They may even kill people.

Now a new kind of fanaticism is cropping up. They call themselves evolutionists and if you disagree with them on any issue they go ballistic. I do not see much difference between the two types. Evolution must be your new religion or else.
A self-proclaimed scientist/scholar/intellectual (some crap like that) commented on my blog:

'...oh, and by the way: "survivial (sic)of the fittest" was something Darwin never wrote..'

Oh Yeah! Really! Here is a quote from none other than Darwin himself:

"In the struggle for survival, the fittest win out at the expense of their rivals

What Use Is A Poll That Doesn't Support Your Position

Kelly McParland: Suzuki Foundation polls finds Canadians overwhelming agree with Suzuki Foundation. Even in Alberta, where everyone hates the environment!

Here's a poll that says Canadians are embarrassed that we're not leading the international charge against global warming.

On the eve of major UN climate change talks next month in Copenhagen, a major survey of Canadians has found that more than three quarters of the public feel embarrassed that the country hasn't been taking a leadership role on reducing greenhouse-gas emissions....

Even in Alberta, 65 per cent of respondents agreed with a statement that “it's embarrassing that we are not doing more to curb emissions.” Support for the view favouring more action was highest in Quebec, at 86 per cent.

Oh, gee look ... the head of the firm compiling the survey is also head of the Suzuki Foundation. And guess what .. he was doing the survey on behalf of, among others ... the Suzuki Foundation!

Now there's a credible survey. An organization heavily involved in environmental lobbying organizes a survey by one of its own leading members, that just happens to produce a result that precisely matches the position the organization had hoped for. What a stroke of luck!
