Use Of Tactic Explained In Detail...

Enough with the Race Card!

I was explaining to a Mexican visitor the other day that the Left's tried & true technique to shut down all debate on anything in Canada is to simply say, "We don't want any American-style ________ {fill in the blank however you wish}." This immediately stifles all real public discussion on the subject.

In America, a similar despicable technique has been deployed, in which you only need declare your opponent a "racist" and you've been able to destroy them and their arguments. This has worked very effectively for decades. Until now. Fair-minded Americans have grown absolutely fed up with the race card being played over & over & over again by Obama's foot soldiers, simply because someone "dares" disagree with his policies, most of which have been very destructive to America.

The latest race baiter is actor Morgan Freeman. Rex Murphy isn't having any of it. Neither are Dennis Miller or Herman Cain:

Adrian MacNair: Liberals prorogue themselves on budget vote
Posted: March 12, 2010, 4:30 PM by NP Editor Filed under: Adrian MacNair

As has been well reported on by now, 30 Liberals MPs sat on their hands during the federal budget vote, allowing it to pass in the House of Commons. What’s particularly interesting are some of the big-mouth big-names in that list. There’s the feisty Denis Coderre; the heir apparent Justin Trudeau; the environmentally-friendly sex-toys promoter, Carolyn Bennett; the man you would never expect to sit on an opinion, Irwin Cotler; the supernanny, Ruby Dhalla; the MP for whom no amount of rhetoric about torture is too extreme, Ujjal Dosanjh; the embarrassed-to-travel-with-Canadian-flag-on-backpack, Hedy Fry; the man who would be king except they anointed Michael Ignatieff, Dominic LeBlanc;  former reformer turned hand-sitter, Keith Martin; the list goes on and on. This is the same political party that was moaning loudest about the fact that the Conservatives were robbing the people of Canada of their democratic rights by proroguing Parliament. But the moment they are given a chance to make a decision on a budget, they strategically abstain to ensure it passes.

"Attack" Ads By Conservatives Are In The Open And Up Front.....

Steve Janke: Liberal hand detected in wafergate report
Posted: July 29, 2009, 10:45 AM by NP Editor

CTV reported yesterday that a Liberal party source took the story of Prime Minister Stephen Harper pocketing a communion wafer at a Roman Catholic mass, and passed it to a Liberal-friendly editor, who published the story under the byline of two reporters who had nothing to do with it.

The network's evening webcast reported (at the 10.30 mark):

That story was first published in the St John Telegraph Journal which is owned by the billionaire Irving family. The prime minister hit the roof. Well, today, a grovelling apology from the paper. They said the story was not true. So what happened? Well, I'm told that the Liberals passed the story to young Jamie Irving who was the publisher of the paper. He passed it to the editor who put it in the paper without checking it out, and today the editor has been fired, and Jamie's father has suspended his son for thirty days, and I'm told the prime minister is pretty thrilled with that.

If true, whoever is responsible must be called to account.

More EI. More Stimulus. More Child Care. ETC but don't efecit?

Grit twits and rhetorical fits By PAUL BERTON It's just politics as usual, of course, but isn't calling for the resignation of the federal finance minister getting a bit tired, or worse, doesn't it sound like crying wolf? Does Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff really expect Jim Flaherty to step down? How often have we heard that demand in the Commons? And is anybody even listening anymore?

Would Flaherty's foes do any better? by Chantal Hébert

Spend, spend, spend!
A $34-billion deficit was one thing, but $50 billion? Aieeeeee!

Jim Flaherty is easily the worst finance minister in Canadian history, James Travers argues in the Toronto Star, and “even the perception of such incompetence” has been more than enough to unseat several of his predecessors. Of course, he adds, the Liberals can demand Flaherty’s resignation all they want—it won’t change the fact they’ve signed off on pretty everything that got us into this $50-billion hole. What both they and the Conservatives need, therefore, is a big name economist to run the ministry (after being elected, we assume) and haul us out. The name of former Bank of Canada governor David Dodge is, apparently, rattling around the Ottawa rumour mill.

Flaherty might be the worst ever, but certainly, says Paul Wells on his Maclean’s blog, he’s “the most ineffectual … in decades,” and there’s little point replacing him with someone else who’d be just as beholden to the PMO’s every whim. “He is a funny wee leprechaun,” Wells concludes, “and as long as nobody ever listens to another word from his mouth, there is no harm in letting him continue to ride around in the fancy car.”

G&M Much what the Liberals asked for : If only the Conservatives had listened to his calls for restraint last year, Liberal Finance Critic John McCallum lamented this week, the federal deficit would not be so large as it is today. What Mr. McCallum neglected to point out is.. MORE...
