In Today's Politically Correct Society You Have To Wonder...
...if the action taken by the police would have been the same if the "protestors" had been black, gay, indians, muslims, etc.

The concept of freedom of speech is philosophically simple and easy to understand. It provides an individual with the right to express their opinion or belief in a manner that they choose without the fear of forceful reprisals from other individuals or the state. Letter-writer Rene Leiva seems to have difficulty understanding this concept; he fails to grasp what freedom of speech does not provide.
It does not provide an individual with the right to express their opinions with someone else’s microphone, radio station, magazine, newspaper or wall space. Just as one individual has freedom of speech rights, the other individual has property rights. Read More »

In Ottawa this week, police arrested five university students for displaying a pro-life exhibition. They were peaceful and merely expressing an opinion and showing the realities of abortion.

This is no different than those who get elected into public office with zeal and true honour about fiscally managing the peoples money. The problem is, once these same people get at the trough and see the sense of entitlement every one is practicing , it is hard to change the status quo
