Canadians aren't just looking back in anger; every which way they turn seems to produce an object of ire.
Someone cutting in line? More than 70 per cent of people polled report being ticked off on seeing that, according to a recent Angus Reid poll. Neglecting to clean up after a dog? Sixty-six per cent say failing to scoop gets their goat. Witnessing bad manners? Fifty-eight per cent are steamed.
Indeed, almost half of Canadians surveyed said people are angrier now than a year ago. And one in four confessed to getting their dander up more often than in the past.
People weren't just ticked off by the expected irritants, like telemarketers' calls (58 per cent), ATM fees (54 per cent) and bad service in restaurants (42 per cent fuming).
They also reported anger over the sight of people wearing flip-flops in wintertime; people who take their kids to formal restaurants; people who drink too much alcohol; those who don't drink at all; and, ironically, people who complain a lot.
It seems Angus Reid could have made their poll simpler by asking Canadians what didn't make them angry.
