Finally...Common Sense Comes To The Justice System

Bail denied in shooting case

The man charged in connection with a fatal of shooting that was caught by an apartment security camera will remain in custody.

A publication ban was issued at Wendell Damian Cuff's bail hearing this morning.

The 25-year-old Toronto man was arrested and charged in the shooting-death of Abdikarim Ahmed Abdikarim, 18, yesterday.

Five others were shot during the attack two weeks ago. Police will be holding a press conference today at 1:30 p.m.

Outside court, family and supporters of Abdikarim told reporters they will be at every one of the accused's court appearances.

"We're here for justice and we believe in the justice system," said Marian Abdikarim, the victims sister.

The victim's mother, Shamso Mohamoud said her son was a good boy that everyone loved.

"I just want to have justice for my son... But I want everyone to know I don't hate anyone."

Police have issued a warrant for a second suspect, Owen Anthony Smith, 25.
