$4.3M fix for social housing complex
To say Raymond Driftfield was a little star-struck when he wandered out of his Scarborough apartment block yesterday would be a major understatement.
"Man, this is like meeting the president," the 21-year-old said as he shook hands with Toronto Mayor David Miller at the foot of his building.
For Driftfield and many of the residents gathered at the Gordonridge Community Centre, Miller's visit marked a significant day.
Their 869-unit social housing complex is undergoing a $4.3-million makeover.
