She is getting more press than she normally would and she doesn't have to worry about making a fool of herself on national television......

actually she is known to be a very eloquent speaker and is very well informed on the issues. She is also well known to be extremely effective in speaking off the cuff without any notes, which either Harper nor Dion is noted for, so, Although this is certainly generating press for her, it would be far, far greater for her to be on the debate than not, for those than know anything about her.
The real risk, is to the NDP, and the conservatives. NDP votes are more likely to swing to green, than liberal votes, and Harper risks having to face an extremely well spoken opponent who would very much put the environment front and center in the debate, something the conservatives are desperate to prevent.
And I say kudos to 2 leaders, who have publicly expressed cooperation between 2 parties, because that is something we need far more of in our politics, Canadians are sick of the childish bickering and if there was more cooperation than this divisive politiking maybe, just maybe compromises could be reached and something would get done.
