I love Toronto Councillor Giorgio Mammoliti, if for no other reason than he can be counted on for a steady supply of comic relief during the silly season. A few weeks ago the hapless Mammoliti drew a great round of laughs by publicizing his letter-writing campaign inviting criminals to move out of his ward. This week he floated the idea of imposing a 1¢ tax on fast food items, such as burgers, donuts, fried chicken, etc. During an interview with Toronto radio station AM 640's John Oakley, Mammoliti claimed to be "thinking out loud" about using the revenue such a scheme might generate so that the city can keep swimming pools and libraries open. Mammoliti complained that since obesity was becoming a problem that is burdening our healthcare system, this tax would be a way to make people aware of the dangers of fatty foods.

About Me

My photo
I lean to the right but I still have a heart and if I have a mission it is to respond to attacks on people not available to protect themselves and to point out the hypocrisy of the left at every opportunity.MY MAJOR GOAL IS HIGHLIGHT THE HYPOCRISY AND STUPIDITY OF THE LEFTISTS ON TORONTO CITY COUNCIL. Last word: In the final analysis this blog is a relief valve for my rants/raves.
