The clever tactics of Islamophobes

Baby Boomers

Those moderate Muslims!

An Islamist insurgent-run radio station in Somalia says it is awarding guns, bombs and books to three children in a Koran recital contest.

Andulus radio station is run by the al-Qaeda-linked al-Shabab militia.

The station announced Monday that the first prize winner in the contest received a rifle and $700, the second prize winner got a rifle and $500, and the third prize winner received two bombs.

All three children also received religious books.

Chapter 2 Page3 Mao Zedong's Red Book

Have You Apologized to Muslims Yet?

If you're an American, don't worry, Congressman Mike Quigley has already apologized on your behalf. Perhaps you'd like to send him a thank you note? :-)
In case it isn't crystal clear, Quigley isn't actually apologizing on behalf of himself. His "apology" is a "too clever by half" condemnation of conservative Americans. His "apology" is as insincere and phoney as he is.
Never forget, one of the beautiful things about being on the Left is never having to apologize for one's own words & actions. After all, if you're a member of the Cult of Leftism then you can do no wrong. if anyone ever is inadvertently offended then there clearly must have been a "misunderstanding".

Q. "Why are evangelical Christians like the Taliban?
A. They are both religious fundamentalists"

The latter "joke" is not a joke at all, of course. It is a comparison routinely touted by Leftists. Both "jokes" are greatly offensive and unfair to the parties targeted but one gets a pass without question while the other would bring great wrath on the head of anyone uttering it. Why? Because political correctness is in fact just Leftist bigotry. Bigotry is unfairly favouring one or more groups of people over others -- usually justified as "truth".

The Bull'y Brother Lives Just Down The Block...

Peter Goodspeed: Bin Laden’s successor may launch new strike

Osama bin Laden is dead, but al-Qaeda is not.

U.S. intelligence experts in Afghanistan and around the world are pouring over a treasure trove of documents, computer hard drives, memory sticks and cellphones seized by U.S. Navy SEALs from his Pakistani hideout.

They are hoping to find clues to new al-Qaeda terrorist plots and information on the whereabouts of its remaining leaders. Their top target is a chubby Egyptian-born doctor who wears a turban and owlish glasses.

The Majority Of Canadiansx Don't Know, And Probably Don't Care...

...about the differences and therefore there is little effort to prevent radicalization of Canadian Muslims by the radicals in the United States. In fact this seems to be occuring... Alex Wilner: Canada grows its own terrorists

Stephen Schwartz: Toronto, the anti-Islamist capital of North America

In general, the Canadian Muslim population is different from its American counterpart. Most Canadian Muslims emigrated to Canada from East Africa, India, Pakistan and other Commonwealth countries; and they did so earlier than the main influx of foreign-born Muslims to the United States. Most came to Canada prior to the onset of significant radicalization of South Asian Muslims in their countries of origin. Newcomers to Canada include many Ismaili and other Shia Muslims, whose intellectual diversity is well-known.

By contrast, numerous Arab, South Asian and Somali Muslims who arrived in the United States over the past two-and-a-half decades have brought with them a culture of grievance, especially against Israel and India but also against the United States itself, even though it has welcomed and assisted them. (These pathologies are, I am pleased to report, largely absent from the communities of Bosnian and Albanian Muslims that arrived in the United States during the recent Balkan wars.)

Dominance over American Islam by Saudi- and Pakistani-backed radical networks has rendered American Muslims confused and passive in the face of radicalism and mediocre in their religious development. This is generally not the case with Canadian Muslims. Read More »

Society Needs To Redefine Tolerance And Diversity...

...it is obvious that we have been failing for centuries and the Crusades, Barbarby Coast Pirates, Al Quieda, etc. are the results.

Killing Christians in the name of the prophet

Michael Coren: The bomb that killed at least 21 Egyptian Christians on New Year’s morning was packed with sharpened metal, iron balls and razor wire. Many of those that the device didn’t rip to death will never function properly ever again.

Matt Gurney, however, writes about a different but related problem: After busting up an alleged domestic terror cell involving a plan by three Muslim Canadians to attack civilians in Canada, the RCMP rushed to apologize to the Muslim community, in case the arrests hurt any feelings.

Father Raymond J. de Souza, in reference to religious fighting in Nigeria, recounts the story of that country’s minority Christians — who only found peace with their Muslim neighbours after they answered violence with violence.

Long Before 9/11...

First Barbary War
The First Barbary War (1801–1805), also known as the Barbary Coast War or the Tripolitan War, was the first of two wars fought between the United States of America and the North African Muslim states known collectively as the Barbary States. These were the independent Sultanate of Morocco and Tripoli, which was a quasi-independent entity nominally belonging to the Muslim Ottoman Empire.

Wikileaks: 'There is no such thing as Arab brotherhood and Muslim brotherhood...'

Wikileaks and the Spanish American War? Not so much.

W. Joseph Campbell corrects what you think you (and Pat Buchanan) think you know about the Maine.
# Kathy Shaidle
Michael Coren writes:
...and no concern for the Palestinians beyond how they can be used as a stick to bash the Jews and the West. The most long-lasting and sadistic empire within the Islamic world was the Ottoman Empire and the Turkish Ottomans were and are Muslim.

Most of the victims of Muslim terror are other Muslims, and there is no racism like the racism of an Arab Muslim towards a Pakistani Muslim, a Persian Muslim towards an Arab Muslim, and a Turk towards an Arab or a Pakistani.

As for Middle Eastern Muslim views on black Muslims, don’t even ask.

We in the non-Islamic world beat ourselves up for being insensitive, when we are models of equality and racial and religious tolerance.

We Already Have Mandated "Parallel Societies"...

Paul Russell: Niqab defence draws criticism, but our illustrators win praise

Niqabs and burkas: Harmless garments that ensure modesty or instruments of male repression? That debate has cropped up again on the Letters page, sparked by a column last week by Afsun Qureshi-Smith, titled “The walking coffin.”

On Monday, two female letter writers defended the wearing of these garments. In the words of one: “If covered women are ‘silenced’ or ‘walking coffins’ then, by those same standards, women who wear miniskirts or bikinis are promiscuous and are giving a green light to those who want to touch them in a sexual manner.”

Her words sparked more than a dozen replies.

“I was brought up to believe that modesty is derived from who you are as a person, not what ‘uniform’ you wear,” wrote M. Watson. “This is not about modesty. To feel superior to someone wearing a mini-skirt or bikini is not modesty; it a sense of superiority. I am 61 and don’t wear mini-skirts. I try to be a modest person, but I do not think that my mode of attire is better than others or that others who do not share my beliefs or religion are somehow inferior to me.” Read More »

Mosques "Under Attack" In Middle East...

Government looks to muffle the clamor of Cairo's mosques

But for many Egyptians, the cacophony of the call to prayer is the whole point.

Wacky World...

Bye-bye fido?

Iran’s ayatollahs take aim at man’s loyal companion

Iran’s religious leaders want to stamp out the increasingly fashionable practice of keeping dogs as pets, citing Islamic tradition that brands man’s best friend as “unclean.” So they have banned all advertising of pets, pet food and pet products. Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi pronounced that that dog owners were “blindly imitating the West” and that “many people in the West love their dogs more than their wives and children.” This love of pets would result in “evil outcomes,” though keeping animals as guard dogs is fine. And not all animals are a target of Tehran. Since the Prophet Muhammad owned a pet cat, named Muezza, Iranians are free to live with cats and they must treat them well.

Different Strokes For Different Folks...

Fatwa Chaos

Some useful fatwas:
A well-known Saudi religious scholar recently advised that a woman could become kin to a man—and thus be alone with him without violating the Islamic ban on gender mixing—by giving him five sips of her breast milk. This religious ruling, or fatwa, followed one in Somalia prohibiting Muslims from watching the soccer World Cup; one in Malaysia saying Muslims should not do yoga; two in Egypt, one saying married couples should not disrobe when having sex and the other one labeling Facebook users sinners; and one in Pakistan forbidding polio vaccination because it’s a Western plot to harm Muslims.
Yes, these rulings are certainly fascinating, but what's the real issue?
The purposes of some of these fatwas, which are supposed to be based in the knowledge and wisdom of those who issue them, are quite disturbing and are tarnishing the image of Islam. For Muslim governments, this expansion of fatwa-issuing is becoming a growing concern.
Tarnishing the image? Au contraire, I'd say these fatwas are downright entertaining. It's the beheadings and bombings of infidels that is tarnishing the image of Islam.

Mosque proponents just $99.9 million short of $100 million goal

  August 19, 2010 – 1:29 pm
According to this report in Politico, on the plan for a cultural centre and mosque near Ground Zero, rarely has so  much been made of something that isn’t likely to happen:
The Cordoba Initiative hasn’t yet begun fundraising for its $100 million goal. The group’s latest fundraising report with the state attorney general’s office, from 2008, shows exactly $18,255 — not enough even for a down payment on the half of the site the group has yet to purchase. Read More »
