Tour de Force In A Time Of Crisis...

Chapter 2 Page3 Mao Zedong's Red Book

Have You Apologized to Muslims Yet?

If you're an American, don't worry, Congressman Mike Quigley has already apologized on your behalf. Perhaps you'd like to send him a thank you note? :-)
In case it isn't crystal clear, Quigley isn't actually apologizing on behalf of himself. His "apology" is a "too clever by half" condemnation of conservative Americans. His "apology" is as insincere and phoney as he is.
Never forget, one of the beautiful things about being on the Left is never having to apologize for one's own words & actions. After all, if you're a member of the Cult of Leftism then you can do no wrong. if anyone ever is inadvertently offended then there clearly must have been a "misunderstanding".

A Pedestrian Bridge TO FORT YORK???

Sue-Ann Levy

Levy: Fort York Bridge shows lefties still don't get it

Last week the left wing has-beens on council proved one thing: They’ve become caricatures of themselves.

...what have I missed? Is there a contingent of the armed forces stationed there that need quick access to the city if it is attacked by a foreign nation or the Mohawk Warriors.Or do future plans include turning Fort York into an amusement park with an anticipated onslaught of pedestrians. Personally I like the "pristine" nature of the fort.

Even When He Was A City Councilor...

...I thought he was a pious, pompous, two-faced, leftwing social in-activist who ensured Olivia and he had a reserved spot at the trough.

Today’s letters: Why Canadians like Jack

Bryan Schlosser/ postmedia News

Three-year-old Ophelia McDaid was on hand to meet Jack Layton in Regina on March 28.

Re: NDP Gains Throw Rivals Into Disarray, April 28.

The rise of the NDP first in Quebec and then in the other parts of Canada can be explained. Quebec is the most “statist” of our provinces. The daycare program, Air Canada’s government mandated repair facility, subsidies to Bombardier, Quebec union laws, etc. The NDP, being statist, is a natural choice for a province dependent on transfer payments and the redistribution of the wealth of others.

Outside of Quebec, it can be attributed to our education system. Since the mid-’70s, education has been skewed to reflect political correctness, social justice, Keynesian economics, the evils of business and the importance of social activism. Teaching that a constitution outlines what must be provided to citizens by government rather Read More »

...and by the government they mean't the 2/3 of us to pay the freight through various forms of taxes, restrictive legislation, etc. and we saw how well this worked when the ndp were elected in Ontario under Bob Rae. It is one thing to preach give me, give me but entirely different when you become the giver.

George Jonas: The lower the turnout, the healthier the country

After the NDP’s surge in the polls during the last two weeks, it’s no longer impossible to envisage a scenario in which the Governor General asks Jack Layton to form a government — very, very unlikely, but not impossible. Would it be a catastrophe?

Yes and no. What is catastrophic about socialists is their policies, which the other parties are half-adopting anyway — the Liberals more enthusiastically, the Tories less. If NDPers from the government, at least they have to assume responsibility for their programs. Having to actually govern can have a salutary effect on socialists: It can teach some why their ideas don’t work. Trying to govern Ontario certainly taught that lesson to Bob Rae 20 years ago.
Is it an expensive way to educate NDPers? No doubt, but perhaps no more expensive than letting them backseat-drive the country. Read More »

Where Are The Leftwing Media On LAYTON"S Hidden Agenda?

FP’s Terence Corcoran: Jack Layton’s hidden agenda

With the NDP’s public election platform already packed with more than 200 extreme, unworkable, radical and mostly undesirable promises, it might surprise some to learn that Jack Layton’s current power trip packs at lot more baggage under the floorboards.

How much more can there be? They’ve got plans for what amounts to a 10¢-a-litre cap-and-trade tax on gasoline, doubled pension plan contributions, corporate tax increases, plus a long list of plans and schemes to newly regulate pharmaceuticals, banking, oil, food, telecom, railways and many other industries. As for monetary policy, not mentioned in the platform but recently the subject of comment, Mr. Layton says that he wants to maintain an “arm’s length” relationship with the Bank of Canada, although he apparently at the same time intends to jawbone the bank over interest rates and the value of the dollar. A Must Read...

Gay caveman probably not gay or a caveman

...but keep in mind if you bring it up for discussion that now, unlike 2500 BC, you have to deal with Human Right Tribunals and their legions of window blind commandos.

When Was The Last Time Jack/Olivia Actually Held A JOB...

...and did not line up at the public trough whether it was municipal or federal.

Lorne Gunter: Jack Layton is a fine one to complain about ‘Ottawa insiders’

Really? Seriously? Jack Layton has a new attack ad accusing Ottawa insiders of “getting all the breaks?”
We’ll, I guess he should know. He and his wife, MP Olivia Chow, are among the ultimate Ottawa establishment couples.

Jeff Jedras: NDP ad gets its ‘Canadian seniors’ from Denmark

Getting into trouble with stock photos in political advertising is not new; it seems they just never learn. The latest offender is the NDP with the new ad campaign they launched today.

In a scene where they’re talking about seniors issues and family care (family care? there’s a good idea) they show Jack Layton with a senior and his family. Unfortunately it seems no Canadian seniors were available, so they turned to stock photography from a Danish photographer.

Here’s a scene from the NDP ad: Read More »
