Miley Cyrus, the 17-year old pop star, recently told Harper’s Bazaar magazine she’s not a role model. “My job isn’t to tell your kids how to act or how not to act because I’m still figuring that out for myself,” she said. Ding! Ding! Ding! I never thought I'd say this, but Cyrus makes a very good point. As she herself says, she's too busy growing up herself to raise your kids for you.
I have to admit I’ve been pretty hard on the kid. I don't like her music and her kind of celebrity — manufactured style outweighing natural talent — annoys me. But I have to be fair. The kid is just that — still a kid.
