Even if the Prime Minister manages to de-escalate the Idle No More protests, the future of reserves like Attawapiskat is very much up in the air.
...imho the solution is to do away with the reserve system, do away with the special status of Indians, and allow Indians to govern themselves and have them get in line at the trough and their place in line would be relative to their contribution to the public purse. I know this is a fairy tale and probably the most opposition would come from those Indians who work the existing system to their advantage.
