Suspended? This Cretin Should Have Been Fired

We have seen local radio personalities fired for much less...but of course they were not members of a minority group.

If you are black and liberal you can say anything without repercussion. Guess which one is liberal and which conservative?

After stating on the air that the death of a conservative talk show host's mother in a tragic fire was "the vengeance of God", you would think that liberal talker Michael McGee would be apologizing in an attempt to keep his job.

Wrong.

He has merely stepped up his ridiculous attacks. In his recent followup interview with the local Fox 6 news, he compared Charlie Sykes to Satan and Hitler and then said the only thing that he regretted was that “his stringy haired ho son wasn’t layin’ there with her” when Katherine Sykes died in a tragic fire.

So, what happened to Michael McGee, Sr., the radio hatemonger in Milwaukee who mocked the tragic death of rival Charlie Sykes' mother in a house fire? Yesterday's press release from McGee's radio station, WNOV:

STATION OWNER SUSPENDS McGee SR.

Pursuant to a meeting with former Alderman Michael McGee Sr. and representatives from his production company, 860 WNOV owner Mr. Jerrel Jones is suspending McGee Sr. indefinitely. McGee’s son Alderman Michael McGee Jr. will be the host of the Word Warriors program.

“It is imperative that the community’s concerns are responded to immediately”, Jones said.

“Word Warriors program is an integral ingredient to the community’s cry for information and access. McGee Sr. will be suspended, but the programming will continue,” Jones said.

Milwaukee blogger John McAdams notes that the younger McGee is a chip off the old block.

The Journal Sentinel reports that the elder McGee is not sorry for the comments he made accusing Sykes of murdering his mother for money and gloating over her death:

Katherine Sykes died in a fire at her Mequon home last week. During his Thursday program, McGee took a shot at Charlie Sykes, a conservative talker on WTMJ-AM (620).

"A woman that had a fool like that deserves whatever's comin' to her, 'cause she raised a sure enough idiot," McGee said.

The station management received more than 100 calls Friday from people condemning the remarks and demanding that McGee be taken off the air.

After meeting with McGee on Saturday, [radio station owner Jerrel] Jones said: "He's not apologetic, but does realize his timing was not the best. It was a pleasant meeting. He understands what needs to happen."
