Comments from a restaurant critic:
The emerging Leslieville, I'm told by real estate agents, is for twenty- and thirtysomethings with no children or young children; a place to invest in a first home before our entitled, middle-class spawn will need the comforts of a more affluent branch of our public school system. I looked at three houses for sale (a reporter has to take the neighbourhood's pulse) and two of them were already outfitted with yoga studios.
Except now we're thinking even Queen East is overpriced and overhyped, and we're actually considering Scarborough, which apparently has a secret, or maybe not-so-secret-anymore, thriving artistic community. I probably shouldn't have let that cat out of the bag."
Too late, Sarah. Now all the cool kids are going to buy homes in Scarborough before you. It's going to lose all its cachet
