Why Doesn't The Govt. Do Something About Price At Pumps

Prime Minister Stephen Harper has made an announcement regarding taxes on diesel fuel. If the Conservatives form the government, those taxes will go down.

Liberal Party leader Stephane Dion says taxes ought to go up.

Oil prices are at their lowest level in five months. Gas prices have barely dropped. And politicians at all levels are, as usual, playing ostrich, not seeing a thing or saying a word. Oil prices affect every facet of our lives, right down to being able to put bread on the table to support our families. Even working is becoming unaffordable.

Harper unveils plan to cut excise tax on diesel fuel

Stephen Harper unveiled his first major policy of the campaign on Tuesday: a plan to cut the excise tax on diesel fuel.

This move will certainly make those who move the goods on our store shelves happy plus those who haul Toronto garbage to Michigan & St. Thomas plus put the parts on the shelves of our manufacturing sector, etc. and might keep the cost of things like food less.....

But Liberals immediately attacked the proposal as bad for the environment.
