Last Ribbon Post........for today

John get's down to the nitty gritty.....this is driven by the left wing cadre that would rejoice if Stalin and Mao were reincarnated, berets and camflo clothing came back in style and they were accepted as major players at Starbucks, et al

John Oakley: Toronto's lamentable leaders

We all know that logos and symbols are used to convey a message; they’re
imbued with meaning. And that meaning can sometimes be interpreted in
different ways. Take the case of the yellow ribbon decal on Toronto fire
trucks and ambulances. The familiar symbol is a statement of support for
Canada’s military troops in Afghanistan. Plain and simple.

Except for certain powers-that-be at Toronto City Hall. Presumably the
stylized yellow swatch of cloth that hearkens back to the heady days of Tony
Orlando heading the vigil for anxious families on the homefront has now
come to represent some damnable dance with Yankee imperialism in a far-flung
outpost.

So it’s been ordered removed come September.

We wouldn’t want our public vehicles festooned with stickers validating the satanic Bush’s military misadventures would we? How ironic that what truly speaks volumes here is not the simple yellow ribbon in support of our brave young men and women who merit it — regardless of how one feels about the mission. It’s how much this symbol has come to display the petty, self-righteous, mean-spirited, lamentable world view of the Left that prevails down at Toronto's City Hall.

About Me

My photo
I lean to the right but I still have a heart and if I have a mission it is to respond to attacks on people not available to protect themselves and to point out the hypocrisy of the left at every opportunity.MY MAJOR GOAL IS HIGHLIGHT THE HYPOCRISY AND STUPIDITY OF THE LEFTISTS ON TORONTO CITY COUNCIL. Last word: In the final analysis this blog is a relief valve for my rants/raves.
