One dead, 3 injured in west-end T.O. shootings Updated: Fri Dec. 04 2009 6:27:21 PM One man is dead and three others are in hospital after a late-night shooting spree in west-end Toronto Thursday. Multiple "persons of interest" have been taken into custody though no charges have been laid, according to Duty Desk Insp. Howie Page. Homicide investigators took control of the investigation after one of the victims, 19-year-old Aeon Grant, died in hospital early Friday morning. The three other victims are believed to be in their teens or early twenties. They are all in hospital being treated for serious injuries. Police are calling the shooting an isolated incident and say the men were targeted in the attack. The shooting was reported to authorities just before midnight in the area of Jane Street and Highway 401. Police arrived at 30 Falstaff Avenue to find Grant lying on a 15th-floor stairwell with critical injuries. He was rushed to a local trauma centre where he later died. While he was being treated by emergency crews, police received a report that a man had stumbled into the Humber River Regional Hospital with serious but non life-threatening gunshot wounds. Investigators believe the teen was shot outside Falstaff Avenue as well. A short time later, police received a call about two more shooting victims found lying on the ground in a plaza parking lot, blocks away from the original shooting location at Jane Street and Beverly Hills Drive. Police believe the men ran away from the shooting scene on Falstaff and collapsed in the parking lot. Authorities are not saying how many guns were used in the shooting or what may have lead to the violent outburst. Should Canada's prison farms be kept? 90% 516 votes 10% 56 votes | ||
