Thanks To Comrade Miller's Relationship With Unions...

Businesses owned by minorities want more city contracts

By TOM GODFREY, Toronto Sun

Less than 5% of $1 billion awarded annually through contracts by the City of Toronto reaches the pockets of visible minority firms or those owned by women, aboriginal people or the handicapped, a business group charges.

...and this is true of many of the left wing councilors but at the same time caution needs to be excercised that businesses vying for city contracts need to be properly vetted for experience and sustainability. There are constant examples of the companies now being awarded city contracts are involved in delays, cost overruns, etc. This begs the question WHO IS IN CHARGE? It is obvious that in many cases the beauracrats are dropping the ball.
