Ever since Ignatieff took the controls of the battered big red machine, impatient Liberals have rationalized the inconvenient truth that their party has enjoyed no surge in support on the fact that "Canadians just haven't gotten to know Michael yet."

To the inherently arrogant Liberal mind, that can of course be the only explanation. No one can possibly dislike us, so any lack of support must be rooted in ignorance! That's obviously nonsense, but even if we decide to play a little make-believe and assume that not knowing the real Ignatieff is the only problem, the Liberals only have themselves to blame. It's bad enough that for months they barely put him out there, but it's worse still that he's so damned inconsistent when they do.
