The Emery Village Business Improvement Association is ready to spend three and a half million dollars to erect the tallest flag pole in North America. On Monday, City Hall's executive committee will vote on whether to put up the flag pole at Finch Avenue West, just west of highway 400.
If approved, the project would begin in 2011.
Currently the tallest flagpole in North America is in Iguala, Mexico standing at 113 metres.
