TORONTO - The Ford brothers lost a bitter fight to stop council from awarding an almost $53 million contract on Wednesday.
Mayor Rob Ford and Councillor Doug Ford had been urging councillors to reject a motion by public works chairman Denzil Minnan-Wong to award the contract for odour control and upgrades at the Humber Treatment Plant to WCC Construction Canada, ULC.
The company’s $52,807,334.40 bid on the contract was the lowest compliant bid, city staff reported.
