Credit goes to Dan Arnold at Calgary Grit for this reaction to Michael Ignatieff's demand for more answers from Stephen Harper today.

Maybe I'm reading this wrong, but Michael Ignatieff says he will trigger an election unless he gets answers on four questions.
Not action on those issues. Just answers.
Does the Liberal leader really think the real world is just a classroom and he's the professor?

The logic behind the position put forward by Michael Ignatieff in Ottawa today seems to go something like this:
The Liberals have been getting lots of free attention from the press over their threat to force an election. For them, that's good. It puts the focus on Mr. Ignatieff, creates the impression of action and forces the Prime Minister to respond.
The plan, then, is to drag it out. Last week, Mr. Ignatieff promised he'd give a straightforward, up or down decision on forcing an election today, but instead offered a major fudge. We'll have wait until Friday now, to see how the Liberals vote on the supply bill needed to keep the government in funds. Or maybe we'll wait even longer, depending on whether Stephen Harper accepts Mr. Ignatieff's suggestion of an extended session.
Either way Mr. Ignatieff keeps the spotlight on himself and enhances to notion that he has the power to dictate terms.
It's a strategy loaded with risks, though. Neither Mr. Ignatieff nor anyone else knows how Canadians would react to being forced into another tedious election campaign. And there are obvious gaps in the Liberal position that the party has to hope voters ignore. Here are a few:

perhaps premature eJANKulator needs to figure out, that the answers, are what ACTION is to be taken on all 4 issues.
It may not mean much, sure, but any half wit can figure this out.
But of course he thinks the one who denied there was even gonna -be- a recession is a better choice.
(snicker...)
