More Vote Potential At Timmys Than UN

Dan Arnold: World peace vs Tim Hortons. Tough call

Stephen Harper has received some flack for his decision to skip Barack Obama's address to the UN on climate change, in favour of a photo op at the Tim Hortons Innovation Centre in a Toronto suburb.

I know, I know. Donuts over diplomacy. It doesn't look good. It makes Harper look like a leader who doesn't give a rats ass about climate change. But when you examine the issue closely, Harper's decision was clearly a difficult one. Let's compare:

Prominent Event Speaker
UN: Barack Obama
Tim's: Stephen Harper
Edge: UN

Food Served at Event
UN: A selection of hors d'oeuvre prepared by the world's best international chefs
Tims: Double-double and a Boston Cream donut
Edge: Tim's

The Skinny said...

you're right. More vote potential.

Harper has proved more than once, that he's more interested in his own agenda rather what is good for the country.

Like the gst reduction, which was designed to buy them votes. Every economist in the country, have all said, and agreed it was the stupidest thing they could have done.

But votes, are more important isn't it...

Last word: In the final analysis this blog is a relief valve for my rants/raves.
