Happy Toilet Day, Canadians!

Today is the 8th annual World Toilet Day, as declared by 19 international organizations, and now apparently sanctioned by the United Nations, and, gasp, the WTO! Wow! Oh, wait. They don't mean the World Trade Organization, they mean the World (surprise!) Toilet Organization.

Some of the issues raised in the varied and assorted press releases we've been bombarded with are genuinely good ones — access to clean water for drinking and hygiene, the importance of efficient sewage systems for public health and the right of those being held in detention for any reason to have access to modern sanitation. That last one was particularly interesting, since the slop pail has become a cliched part of the depiction of any torturous confinement. Not something that would have crossed our minds otherwise, so kudos to them for that.

I lean to the right but I still have a heart and if I have a mission it is to respond to attacks on people not available to protect themselves and to point out the hypocrisy of the left at every opportunity.MY MAJOR GOAL IS HIGHLIGHT THE HYPOCRISY AND STUPIDITY OF THE LEFTISTS ON TORONTO CITY COUNCIL. Last word: In the final analysis this blog is a relief valve for my rants/raves.
