As two self-professed skeptics, we came to the Total Health show in Toronto this past weekend with the expectation we would encounter some obtuse ideas about medicine and health. And sure enough, we saw plenty of quantum healers, celestial healers, aura photographers, soothsayers, homeopaths, naturopaths, mineropaths, fairy communicators, chiropractors, crystal channellers, hemp farmers and musical miracle composers. No GPs, dentists, optometrists, proctologists, psychiatrists, dermatologists, cardiologists or neurologists. They wouldn’t have been welcomed there. Take Dr. Joel Wallach. He has been performing research on the benefits of consuming colloidal minerals. "I've been doing this for 32 years and none of your damn doctors are interested," he said. He is the author of Dead Doctors Don't Lie, an indictment of the medical establishment. "Dead doctors don't lie. They're dead," he explains. He claims there are 15 million instances of people killed or injured by doctors. Bizarrely, however, he enjoys brandishing the doctor moniker. The former veterinarian turned naturopath claims to have performed 20,000 autopsies, which comes to an autopsy a day for over 54 years. He seems to have a love-hate relationship with medicine, at once condemning the establishment while simultaneously buttressing his claims with evidence garnered from it.

About Me

My photo
I lean to the right but I still have a heart and if I have a mission it is to respond to attacks on people not available to protect themselves and to point out the hypocrisy of the left at every opportunity.MY MAJOR GOAL IS HIGHLIGHT THE HYPOCRISY AND STUPIDITY OF THE LEFTISTS ON TORONTO CITY COUNCIL. Last word: In the final analysis this blog is a relief valve for my rants/raves.
