Turn Your Lights On
Earth Hour has it backwards; it's the light that saves us, not the dark.
Toronto stays bright for earth hour
Sat Mar 27 2010
People in 120 countries pledged to go without electricity for an hour to call attention to climate change. When Earth Hour came to Toronto this year, many of the lights stayed on.
Most of the downtown skyline was still ablaze, many of the bank buildings and the Rogers Centre. The CN Tower extinguished its colourful lights display, but safety lighting remained on.
According to Toronto Hydro, fewer people participated this year — the utility recorded a 10 per cent power drop between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. Saturday, March 27, 2010, compared with 15.1 per cent last year. Across Ontario, 560 megawatts less energy was used. That’s enough to power the city of Brampton.

One of the rewards of blogging is knowing that, in my own small way, my work here has the potential to inspire others.Sorry. It's hard to type with this lump in my throat.
Kelowna, BC - before and during "Earth Hour".
OMG is this cute or what? Is there anything more heartwarming than a child's first private Urban Heat Island Effect experience? They'll remember this night for the rest of their lives, Jay. You're a great dad.
