shlemazl's Take On Obama

Era of Pragmatism

Pretty good speech by Obama in Cairo. He finally set the tone for his presidency. Start of a new era. We are moving away from the times of naive optimism, attempts to achieve unachievable, to pick too many fights, to have friends who are few and far between and enemies so numerous that if they all spit at Jews, the latter would be drowned.

He is right. Who are Americans to point fingers? Sure Pakistan's women have far more equality than their American counterparts.

He is right. If nations prefer dictators they might be right after all. We think differently, but how can we be so sure that democracy is better?

And what if charity money gets to mass murderers? It's more important that US does not get in the way of Islamic charity.

He is right. Jews shouldn't build houses in Judea and Jerusalem.

He is right. Islamonazi Republic of Iran has a right to go nuclear. Like who hasn't broken a treaty they signed? US is far away and in any case Islamonazis might not strike for fear of retlaiation.

Last word: In the final analysis this blog is a relief valve for my rants/raves.
