Michael Ignatieff — invisible! EI reform — nonsense! NATO — a bunch of ingrates! And so on...

The Toronto Star's editorialists suggest Stephen Harper, Barack Obama and Felipe Calderón should be discussing “the 'iron river' of smuggled guns flowing from the U.S.” at their summit in Guadalajara, since a considerable majority of “crime guns” in Canada are of American origin. We too would welcome this conversation, although we think it's ultimately Canada's job to stem the tide — especially since a radical curtailment of gun rights south of the border seems highly unlikely to occur. We also hope the Star will give a bit more thought to the huge predominance of smuggled weapons when it issues its next facile call for a “handgun ban.”

In The Globe and Mail, Rex Murphy continues his recent practice of laboriously stretching very simple, quite commonplace ideas into 800-word columns. Today's simple, quite commonplace idea is that Michael Ignatieff has kept a mysteriously low profile over the summer and seems oddly reticent to articulate his vision for the country, perhaps under the misapprehension that Canadians will return the Liberals to power simply because that's where they belong.

I lean to the right but I still have a heart and if I have a mission it is to respond to attacks on people not available to protect themselves and to point out the hypocrisy of the left at every opportunity.MY MAJOR GOAL IS HIGHLIGHT THE HYPOCRISY AND STUPIDITY OF THE LEFTISTS ON TORONTO CITY COUNCIL. Last word: In the final analysis this blog is a relief valve for my rants/raves.
