Good deal? Hate to see a bad one
When council gets together for its long-awaited summer meeting today, Mayor David Miller and his lapdogs will be counting on the anger from the 39-day strike to quickly fade into the sunset.

Re "Tight vote seals deal" (Aug. 1): The strike is finally over, and the most contentious issue to Toronto taxpayers -- bankable sick days -- is still more or less intact.

There should be a public inquiry into the civic workers' strike to look at the illegal blockading of dump sites by union members, the lack of police action to enforce the laws and possible prosecution of those union members who slashed tires, etc.
