Millions are allocated to the "homelessness problem" while single moms and fixed income seniors are just one step away from becoming part of this problem. First let's allocate more funding to help those who are part of the working "poor," then let's look at getting the able bodied homeless to contribute their time keeping the city clean, assisting the aged living in their own homes, etc., get the con artists off the welfare rolls, etc. and then....
The faceless, nameless poor around us
One of Toronto’s working poor — homeless in his final moments — died last year at St. Michael’s Hospital, unnoticed by the greater world around him.
